This post was very encouraging, especially since I started teaching -- something I never thought I'd do, but that's the direction my life has moved in.

I'm enjoying it, but those anxieties you wrote about -- I definitely feel them every time I'm in front of the class, whether it's at Hart Middle School, Homewood Center, or at Duke Ellington. And, as you wrote, most times I worry about worrying.

I told my fiancee I have a habit of always thinking about the worst case scenario. To which she'd say, "Babe, you gotta have faith in yourself. You know what you're doing. Stop doubting yourself." But that quote from "Friday Night Lights" (I've never seen the movie, so thanks for posting the quote) was very inspirational.

Anyway Adrian, it's been a long, long time my friend since we caught up and shot the breeze. I'm glad you got a blog. I'll link to it from mine.

Stay safe,

Alan KingAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2890851583883823628.post-10129239007989676192009-09-03T06:18:15.076-07:002009-09-03T06:18:15.076-07:00Adrian -

We played soccer together back in the day, we went to summer camp at Dawson Terrace and I think our paths crossed more than once since then. Anyway, saw you post to Tony Brawner's latest Facebook wall posting, checked out your site and read this latest entry.

I love it, great writing. I love all those underdog football movies. I especially like Friday Night Lights because they don't win. But they are perfect.

I'll be catching up on your blog now and staying tuned in.

Hope you're well.JDAhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05556046410406535391noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2890851583883823628.post-29343981520517371542008-10-18T11:42:00.000-07:002008-10-18T11:42:00.000-07:00Excellent post!
